Features

Modify › Features puts a standard feature on a face. Pick the screw size (M2–M5) at the top of the menu, choose the feature, then click the face. Every size stays editable in the inspector afterwards.

Feature What it makes
Screw hole Clearance hole (M3 = Ø3.2), through the wall
Counterbore Hole plus a flat recess for the screw head
Countersink Hole plus a 90° cone for a flat-head screw
Heat-set insert Blind hole sized for brass inserts (M3 = Ø4.0 × 6.7)
Nut pocket Hex pocket for a nut, plus the bolt hole
Bearing seat Press-fit pocket for a ball bearing, see below
Text Raised or engraved lettering

Through holes measure the wall where you click, so they always go all the way through. Clearance is extra diameter for printer tolerance; new features take it from the printer profile (hole compensation).

Bearing seats

Pick the bearing from the list (623 … 6810, 16 sizes). The pocket is OD + fit (0.1 mm presses into PLA; 0.2–0.3 slides) and bearing width + 0.2 deep. A relief hole under it clears the inner race so only the outer ring sits on the ledge. Each seat adds its bearing to the bill of materials.

You can also type a bearing in the command bar: 608, 6001 laakeripesä.

Text

Features › Text, then click a flat face. Set the words, letter height and height/depth in the inspector; Raised adds, Engraved cuts. Turn it with Rot Z in Placement. The font is Arial Bold (thick strokes print well).

For text as a part of its own (a name tag, letters to glue on) use Text in the Create group; give it a Plate thickness for a backing plate.

Screw-hole patterns

Right-click a face › Screw holes…. A grid of screw holes is centred where you clicked, and the panel on the right shows it to scale with its spacing:

  • Screw (M2–M5 or Custom) sets the hole and head sizes; Head: none, counterbore or countersink.
  • Columns × Rows, Apart X / Apart Y: e.g. 2 × 1 at 32 mm, 2 × 2 at 20 × 25, or 3 × 2.
  • Slot ±: turns each hole into a slot that much longer each way, for adjustment (a counterbore is slotted too, keeping its step). Slot along X or Y.
  • Through sizes the holes to the wall; untick it for a set depth. Clearance comes from the printer profile.
  • Rot Z in Placement turns the whole pattern.

Example, a Cartographer mount: M3, Counterbore, Columns 2, Rows 1, Apart X 32, Slot ± 4.

Vent holes

Right-click a face › Vent holes…. An area of holes is cut, centred where you clicked; the panel shows the layout, the number of holes and how much of the area is open.

  • Rectangles, Slots (round ends) or Circles (hex-packed, like a fan grille).
  • Rectangle area (width × height) or Round area (Ø, e.g. the fan's size).
  • Hole width / Hole Ø, Hole length (long holes are split into rows), Rib (the material between holes) and Margin (kept solid around the edge).
  • Holes run along Y; set Rot Z 90° in Placement to lay them sideways. Ribs thinner than about two lines (1.2 mm on a 0.6 nozzle) print poorly.

Connector cutouts

Right-click a face › Connector cutouts…. Openings for connectors, centred where you clicked, with a drawing to scale in the right panel that updates as you change the settings.

Connector:

Group Choices
USB USB-A, USB-C, Micro-USB, USB-B
Video and network RJ45 network, HDMI, Micro-HDMI (Raspberry Pi 4), D-sub 9 (serial), D-sub 25 (both with their two screw holes)
Panel DC barrel jack (M8), GX12 and GX16 aviation, Round + screws (square flange)
Weipu SP (TAZ) TAZ 5 large (Ø30) and small (Ø21) panel connectors, SP13, SP17, SP21, SP29 (the size number is the panel hole Ø, for the rear-nut sockets)
Other Round hole (switch, button, potentiometer), Rectangle (custom size and corner radius)

Round + screws is for panel connectors with a square plate screwed on, such as Weipu SP square-flange sockets: set the hole Ø, No screws / 2 screws / 4 screws, the screws' square (centre to centre) and the screw size. The screws sit on the square's corners; with 2 they're on opposite corners. Weipu doesn't publish the flange sizes, so measure yours.

TAZ 5 large / small panel connector are the same with the TAZ's sizes filled in: a Ø30 or Ø21 hole, with 4 screws on a square 1 mm smaller than the hole (29 or 20 mm, centre to centre). The small one comes with or without screws: pick No screws for those.

Columns and Rows make an array, e.g. 1 × 3 USB-A or 2 RJ45 side by side. Choosing a connector sets its usual spacing in Apart X; change it to match your board.

Clearance (0.3 mm) is added all round each opening; screw holes keep their own size. The sizes are typical. Connectors vary, so measure yours and adjust the clearance, or use the custom rectangle. A thick wall in front of a USB-C socket needs room for the plug too (about 12.5 × 6.5 mm).

Rot Z in Placement turns the whole cutout.
